Additional manuals in the other language can be bought at cost of R300-00 per manual, including P&P. Language of formal classes / workshops are dependant on the language of the students in the class - in most cases the course is presented bilingual (both Afrikaans and English).

MEDIA AND METHODS EMPLOYED

The course is printed and constructed for distance learning. Manual: Printed text, Assignments: CD‑ROM. The assignments are available on the CD-ROM in MS-Word 6 (.doc) as well as Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) formats.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COURSE

Any camera / format of camera can be used for the course, including disposable cameras and digital cameras, although cameras with manual functions are recommended (where the shutter speed and aperture can be manually adjusted). Access to a PC is also necessary to print the assignments. Students do not need to buy a camera before commencing with the course – rather study the handbooks and then decide what you want to buy for your specific needs – this might just save you lots of money.

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION

The correspondence course can be completed in 12 months or less, since date of enrolment.
In order to obtain a Certificate of Graduation, students must obtain a pass mark of 60% or higher in at least three assignments, a pass mark of 60% in the practical exam and a pass mark of 60% in the final theoretical exam.

COLLEGE TIMES

Please note that the college is only available between 08h00 and 19h00 weekdays and 09h00 and 12h00 on Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays and Public Holidays. Students may attend the special seminars being scheduled during the course of the year free of charge. Pre-submitted questions will be answered during these sessions. The college may schedule more of these seminars should the need arise.

ADMISSION

No specific entrance qualifications are required for this course. However, it is advisable that students have finished at least grade 10.

SERVICES

Courses are delivered by mail to students. An after-hours hotline is available. Students may also write to the college or send e-mail.

REGISTRATION

The course can be started any time during the year and the study term will follow for the next 12 months. However, Formal Classes are scheduled twice a year. Students will receive their study material (manual and assignments), student card and "progress assignment" shortly after registration. The progress assignment requires that the student submit several specified photographs. These photographs are used to evaluate the student's progress during the length of the course and will be returned after the practical exam or after the study term expired.

FINAL THEORETICAL EXAM

Students may register with Kondor Photographic if they wish to do the final theoretical exam. Because the final theoretical exam is not compulsory, the exam registration costs, exam costs and costs at External institutions (approximately R300-00) are not included in the course fees of Kondor Photographic.
